A little side project me and Laurie have been chipping away at for a while. What started out as a film showcasing the types of waves Laurie rides around home more typically these days – evolved into a more rounded snapshot of how life is looking for Loz in 2017. And although we originally wanted to take a different approach with the surf content for this film – and to focus more on Laurie surfing the types of waves he wasn’t as known for – it just wouldn’t be a rounded and accurate portrayal of the bloke if we didn’t include a bit of the big stuff. Sure enough – fellow filmers where only too happy to generously help out with the project, which says a lot about how respected Laurie is in the surf community. With all of the action shots we needed in the bag – now all we needed was the backbone of the film – some words from the man himself. And just like that, over a 6 pack of coopers on the back deck of his Wooloweyah home one nice afternoon – Loz gave a rare insight into his life as a family man, who works a regular job for a living and loves his family, surfing, and the area he calls home – more now than ever.
